Nature’s Wisdom: Clarity

Clarity-minMy family and I are living through a physical move at the moment. We are leaving one province to relocate to another. Going through this shift has been an amazing journey as I allow myself to be present through this whole experience that is taking place in my life.

IMG_1212IMG_2091To maintain this clarity with myself, I turn to Nature (of course) to learn from her wisdom.

How is clarity maintained in Nature during times of transition?

Nature’s capacity to deal with transition and maintain its clarity is very evident when we allow ourselves to notice. Mother Nature constantly faces transitions via storms, seasons, temperature adaptation, to name a few and still her clarity remains.

When Nature goes through a storm, she never forgets who she is. Each organism brings its focus towards itself.

Let’s use a tree as an example. During a storm, the tree’s energy is focused on itself, on staying grounded, rooted and within its trunk and roots.  This is obvious during the storm but this doesn’t just happen during the storm. That tree has spent a lifetime being present during its growth process. Through all the transitions, the obstacles, the storms, and the seasons, the tree has kept its focus on itself. It never became the storm, the season, the obstacles. The tree always remains a tree and only a tree and nothing but a tree until it decomposes and even than the seed of that tree remains a tree. It spends its whole life being exactly what it is, a tree.

No matter what event it has to face, the identity of the tree is always clear.

The tree puts energy on what has already been achieved by its growth, making itself present in the situation and nourishing what is already there.  In other words the tree puts its energy on itself and not on the situation that is external to it. When facing a storm, the tree lets go of anything that is not it’s to carry, a broken branch, unsecured bark, wilted leaves. The tree doesn’t try to hold on to anything that could take any of its energy away.

During storms or transition, the tree doesn’t try to grow or flourish, it puts all its energy on what is already strong, rooted and grounded. No matter how big or small the tree is or how young or old, no matter what the species, the tree is always clear on its identity. The tree never suffers the external situation, it goes through the experience and reveals its identity on the other side of the situation.

The clarity of each tree creates the unity and the strength of Nature. This allows Mother Nature to face all of the transition that it gets put through.

When you go through a transition or a storm in your life do you focus your energy on yourself so that you can face this situation? Do you trust yourself enough to know and recognize that if you hold on during the storm or transition, it will pass and you will have everything you need on the other side of this situation? When facing transitions in our life, we can get so caught up with the transition we forget that we have acquired self knowledge and great personal strength. The clarity to recognize our self for who we are will allow us to face the situation. Exactly like Nature.

Another great post Nicole. Always amazed at how you can take something from Nature and bring it into our lives to give us a better understanding of what we can achieve. These answers are all around us but it takes a person with a gift, like you, to identify it and transition it. thank you
