Nature’s Wisdom: Stillness

Stillness-minAs my life goes through turbulence, transformation, shift, change, alignment, adjustment and growth, I seek to discover how to navigate through it by turning to Mother Nature. I hope you find the same inspiration through this short article if you are going through some growth yourself.

Feel a bit of the tranquility, calm, quiet and stillness that comes from standing in front of a still lake.

This week Mother Nature’s wisdom and knowledge comes from her stillness.  I cannot praise her stillness enough. Her capacity to standstill, grow, be patient and Be herself is all around us when we allow ourselves to spend a bit of time in Nature’s presence.

The stillness is not a place of inaction.  It is the place that allows Mother Nature to shed, release and cleanse parts of herself so that she can be whole with herself and her surroundings.

It is also a state of being. Walking in Nature and it’s stillness becomes a practice that invites quiet, calm, soothing, enveloping energy. It s peacefulness is gentle and welcoming.

This tranquil state allows for the depth of feeling that we receive when we spend some time in Nature.

The stillness in Nature allows us to connect with a bit of the energy of its history. The history that is present in the longevity, the variety, the seasons, the companionship of time. It also reveals and exposes the various actions and interactions present in Nature such as cooperation, order, sequence, association, coordination, adjustment and union.  All within the stillness held in Mother Nature.

Spending time within the stillness is a rich moment in which we can truly connect with a part of ourselves helped by conditions that are external to us but always present in Nature.

Listening to the stillness of Nature is about receiving the history, the depth and the wisdom. This allows us to be aligned and true to ourselves while being one with what is bigger than us.  We are all part of the same Universe and in that moment in which we connect with a small part of Nature, we share in Mother Nature’s wisdom.

Sharing in this wisdom of stillness allows us to feel heard, supported, recognized, recharged and ready to go back to our life. The next time you are out in Nature, feel her wisdom, breathe it in and allow yourself to receive and be grateful for her presence in her stillness.

“The stillness is not a place of inaction.” Loved this one sentence which resonates throughout this post Nicole. As I read I can envision what you feel. Just lovely. Thanks for making sure I got my hands on this! Your words inspire me.

  7. Isn’t it funny, how I immediately thought to myself, “Nature is still like she is silent” ~ Lol, She isn’t! The patience, the simple fact of be-ing in the moment… allow US to quiet our minds and to BE still, to simply absorb that which surrounds us. So many people upon first arriving in Chisana all have a comment on the quiet, the silence that surrounds them. But as they are here, days, weeks, months.. the silence is lost into all the sounds Nature makes.

  8. I focused in on the word “sharing” in the last paragraph. Indeed, after drinking in the juice from nature, we should then do our best to re-engage with our friends, neighbors, loved ones and Share some of this nourishment. Maybe share a kind word, or a smile, or a letter or email of encouragement. Any way possible, share the sunshine & pass it on.

  9. Excellent blog my friend. This definitely made me think about how important it is for all of us to just be still at times. With all the activities that we have on our calendar, we MUST make the time to just be still and enjoy the moment.

  10. What a great way to start the day with your inspiration dear – stillness is not a place of inaction. What a powerful phrase!
I also really loved the following:
“Spending time within the stillness is a rich moment in which we can truly connect with a part of ourselves helped by conditions that are external to us but always present in Nature.”
That, to me, embodies the full wisdom of nature, and how powerful it is to connect with ourselves through nature. I just got chills from reading, Nicole, you are one amazing nature wisdom healers!
Thank you for your gift this morning! Have an amazing day!
    Johann
